2008 Online Machinima Film Festival

The OMFF is a completely online film festival showcasing films made in realtime 3D virtual environments - known as machinima - and a new generation of digital filmmakers.

 
Hosted in Serious World's virtual 2-simulator Sky Theatre, the Online Machinima Film Festival features a pioneering blend of:
  • virtual filmmakers' workshops and demonstrations
  • live virtual music performances
  • live international audio feeds
  • live video feed broadcast
  • awards nominees and guest avatars from across the globe

OMFF'08 kicked off on March 15, 2008 with a cocktail reception featuring live musical performance of machinimators CJ Abromsia and HatHead Rickenbacker.

The ceremony was held on May 10th, 2008 and hosted live by Hugh Hancock from Scotland and Frank Fox from the United States with the lovely Michelle Pettit-Mee from Canada handing out the awards on stage.
